Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. The L ord is with you when you are with him. I would invite you to open your Bible now to the 19th chapter of the gospel of Luke. Luke chapter 19 and the opening ten verses which provide for us one of the most familiar New Testament stories in. Psalm “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Psalm “ The LORD is near to all.

1. WHAT IT MEANS TO SEEK THE LORD. Calling upon Him. To seek the Lord means to call upon him (v. Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near. If you set yourself to seek the Lord this morning, or tonight in the stillness of your room or under the stars, the first thing you will do is call on the Lord.

Are you seeking lord while he may be found you do not know if you will have another day. You better take this limited time offer before you stand before him and give an account. The invitation continues, "Seek the Lord, call upon him." But not just simple imperatives. Seek while he may be found. Call while he is near. Yes, God has made an everlasting covenant. Yes, all nations are invited. But, we aren't being reined in against our will.

We are to seek, we are to do some calling. That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: they.
